New INTREPID™ Model 334-33465 High-Reliability Digital Microwave Link Fortifies Security-Sensitive Sites

Intrepid Model 334-33465

Southwest Microwave has expanded its suite of perimeter detection solutions with the new INTREPID™ Model 334-33465 High-Reliability Digital Microwave Link. This high-security standalone volumetric sensor offers superior detection for sites such as nuclear power plants, government laboratories and military installations.

Combining Southwest Microwave’s field proven detection performance with advanced embedded Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to successfully discriminate between intrusion attempts and environmental disturbances, this Hi-Reliability sensor mitigates risk of site compromise and prevents nuisance alarms.

“Where Southwest Microwave’s INTREPID sensors excel is in their superior ability to classify disturbances to the detection field in real time to optimize performance,” said Maira Zanrosso, Southwest Microwave’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “Intruders walking, running, jumping or crawling through the field are identified and detected, while common environmental disturbances are suppressed, delivering the lowest nuisance alarm rate in the industry.”

Designed for maximum protection against physical tampering and harsh environmental conditions, Model 334-33465 features heavy duty components and packaging, integrated radome tamper switches and optional steel enclosures for external wiring and connections. Advanced dual EMI/RFI shielding at radome and circuit board protect sensor electronics against external electromagnetic or radio frequency interference.

“Like all of our Hi-Rel microwave sensors, the Model 334-33465 undergoes an extended burn-in cycle and comprehensive temperature testing. Coupled with its ruggedized componentry that is highly resistant to mechanical abuse, the Model 334-33465 is an ideal solution for protecting high-risk assets against intrusion and sabotage,” explained Zanrosso. “Moreover, with isolated, on-board relay alarm outputs for monitoring, the risk of hacking or other digital compromise faced by networked devices is eliminated.”

Model 334-33465 features 6 crystal-controlled, field-selectable modulation channels with narrow-band filtering to prevent interference between sensors. Units can be dual, triple or quad-stacked with Model 336-33464 K-Band Digital Microwave Links to fortify ultra-high security applications with risk of prone crawling or bridging attack.

User-friendly Installation Service Tool (IST) software simplifies sensor set-up, and graphically controls and monitors sensor status, control parameters and signal strength with laptop convenience via optically-isolated, surge protected USB-B connection.
