Southwest Microwave and Cathexis have joined forces to create an integrated technology solution that pairs high-performance perimeter intrusion detection with robust video surveillance capabilities, providing clients with a holistic security package for the protection of critical infrastructure and high value assets.

This powerful integration enables seamless interface between the CathexisVision video monitoring solution and two of Southwest Microwave’s advanced INTREPID perimeter security sensor suites:

INTREPID Series II Single Platform Technologies (MicroPoint II, MicroTrack II and MicroWave 330), which combines industry-leading detection performance with seamless networking of fence, buried cable and microwave systems on a unified  communications platform, to protect each portion of the perimeter with the optimal sensor for that location.

INTREPID POE-S IP-based sensors (MicroPoint POE-S, Model 316-POE-S, Model 334-POE-S and Model 336-POE-S), which pair Southwest Microwave’s field-proven detection performance with TCP/IP based data communications and power for plug-and-play convenience, lower installation cost and maximum system design flexibility.

These INTREPID systems offer superior detection performance, using powerful digital signal processing to reliably discriminate between legitimate intrusion attempts and harmless environmental disturbances, minimizing nuisance alarms.

Flexible, windows-based installation service software enables configuration of each sensor via laptop or mobile device and includes user-friendly programming features for quick, easy set-up and calibration. A simplified, software-based zone assignment process allows security operators to establish detection zones anywhere along the protected perimeter reducing time and cost for system changes or expansion.

The CathexisVision platform, which features video analytics, ANPR, advanced video search and adjacent camera mapping, offers a range of featured benefits:

  • Association of cameras to the precise point of intrusion for real-time visual identification
  • Graphical representation of status and alarms on map interface
  • Ability to create customized actions on zone alarms
  • Mine event database to locate events and associated video footage
